Google Adsense Is Still Confusing and Frustrating

Why doesn't Google make the Adsense platform more user friendly? I've been struggling with learning it off and on for a few years, but I always end up pissed off and frustrated. Then I'll take a break and say that I'm done with trying to figure things out because it's way to time consuming for me to learn while I'm trying to continue building my sports site and creating content for it. But then I always seem to somehow find myself trying to figure out how to use Adsense after my cooling off period is over.

It's become a vicious cycle of mental torture that I can't escape. Now I know how Bill Murray felt in the movie Groundhog Day, help!!

I'm not writing this to badmouth Google, I'm actually a fan of Google and use several of their services, but Adsense continues to be a struggle. I know that part of the problem is with me, but I still think they could make the user interface and help sections more user friendly as well as easier to understand.

I really want to use Adsense and don't mind dedicating some time to learning it. I'm also aware that things are always changing and you may need to spend some time learning new features as they become available.

One thing I'm going to do if I ever learn the ropes is to make an easy to understand tutorial for people like me to use from the sign up point right on through.

I've actually created ads and served them on my site, but there's a lot I'm not grasping and it's just so frustrating to feel like I'm wasting so much time on something I may never figure out.

Suggested Ad Placements From Google

Below is a picture of ad placements that Google recommends for bloggers to use in order to get the best results for earning revenue. You are able to place your ads anywhere on your site and you should experiment some because your readers my respond more favorably to a totally different setup than what Google recommends. I'm still experimenting with different placements myself, but I do think these may be the best to use. I'd love to hear what other bloggers think about these formats.

Throwing Myself Into Adsense

In the past couple of days I have really thrown myself into learning the nuts and bolts of how Adsense works. I admit that I never took the time to fully understand how to make the most of what it offers. When I first started I couldn't wait until I had some ads on my site. I felt like I was reading a foreign language when I was attempting to verify my site and then trying to add the Adsense code. It was frustrating and I felt stupid because I was having such a hard time. From the time Google accepted me into their program I think it was something like 3 months before the first ad was on my site.

When I first started I was completely clueless, but determined. I didn't even know how to cut and paste and Wordpress plugins scared the $hit out of me. Then one day I met the text widget and felt like I had found the cure to the common cold or something because it was like magic. I have hardly made any money through Adsense up until this point, but I don't blame nobody for that except myself. If you look around long enough you will see there are some people who love the program while others hate it with a passion, but I want to be able to make my own decision on whether or not it will work for me. Stay tuned because I will give some updates as to where I'm at in the learning process and what my thoughts are at that point.

Google AdSense For DummiesI feel more comfortable learning it this time because I've had a little seasoning and have started to figure some things out. I've read where some people describe their learning process felt like a puzzle coming together and I feel the same way about myself.

Trying To Tie Up All Loose Ends On My Blogs

I've been blogging around 18 months or so know and have really learned a lot, but I still have a ways to go before I'm satisfied. I'm throwing myself into learning more about Adsense and Analytics because I want to take my blogs up a notch and I see value in learning all I can about those Google programs. It's been a real challenge for me because I'm flying solo and in order to maintain and grow a blog there are many things you must do to get traffic to your site and turning that traffic into readers. You must produce content that people want to read and that can consume a ton of your time. I have really fallen in love with blogging and want to continue so all these things I call loose ends need to be fixed!

Google Needs To Simplify Adsense And Analytics

I love all the great stuff that Google allows us to use, but I wish they would simplify the use of Adsense and Analytics for people like me! I'm using both or let me say trying to use both! I have been going crazy trying to get  the Analytics configured the right way with not much success up to this point. I  will keep on plugging away until I get it right or go completely nuts, whichever comes first! I want to install the analytics on a self hosted wordpress site and have not found a plugin that I can use. If you know of a way please let me know because any help will be greatly appreciated!

Doing Things The Right Way, But Getting Nowhere With Adsense

I want to make a couple things clear before I go on my rant! I love blogging and really glad that I found it and I hope to continue blogging for the rest of my life. I have tried to do things the right way or what I thought was the right way. I don't try to trick people into things or recommend B.S. products for the sake of a dollar like so many on the internet do! I really like all the services that Google offers us to use, but I think they need to make Adsense easier to use for beginners. It's confusing and frustrating to learn for us newbies. It seems like it could be more user friendly. I'm frustrated with Adsense to the point of not using it anymore. I have spent many hours on it with nothing gained except more frustration. It makes you feel like your stupid or something. I'm not the only person that feels this way. I'm going to take a break to calm down and think about whether or not to continue with Adsense or not! If someone reads this and knows of any good sites to learn about Adsense please let me know. It will be much appreciated, thanks!
